My Story
Tara R. McCullough, MA, LPC
I became a psychotherapist because I have always had a desire to help people. At a very early age I knew I wanted to make my mark on this world by helping people reach their full potential. I realized therapy was my path after marrying and subsequently divorcing and becoming a single mother all in my early 20’s. This relationship left me with many scars that it took years to heal from, including low self-esteem, worthlessness, fear, trust issues; you name it…I experienced it. I knew that if I could overcome these issues, it’s only right that I pay it forward and assist others on their healing journey.
My theoretic approach is based on the belief that you are the expert of your own life and is fully in charge of the counseling experience. By working together, you will learn the aspects of your life that you can control and what you cannot. My counseling style combines empathy with solution-based approach. I believe this combination can be very useful in dealing with curveballs that life may throw your way.
